Selene is inspired by two generations of genuine aficionados of food and drink. Our aim and our family's ethos is to inspire our customers into creating an environment of "home". The Skiadiotis family has been in business for 40+ years, and feeding St. Pete Beach for 24+ years. We are dedicated to excellent service and quality ingredients (always from scratch). We are excited to open the doors of our newest upscale concept, Selene Restaurant.


About our Chef  Nikola Karvelas ...

Nikola Karvelas is a Greek chef based in New York. He found his passion for food very early and went on experimenting, which earned him the bronze medal of Young Chef’s Contest in Cyprus in 1999.

He gained fame in the Greek cookery industry working at some of the top professional kitchens in Athens alongside the brightest culinary stars of the country. The year 2009 marked his career as he relocated to Istanbul to overtake the city’s high-society eating destination “Varoulko”, successfully combining the highly contrasting European and Asian eating traditions in the crossroads of the two continents.

Karvelas remained devoted to his South European origin by making use of and promoting Mediterranean food products, renowned for their outstanding quality and taste. He is an active member of Enterprise Greece, the country’s state association for foreign trade.

Today, Nikola continues raising the international profile of Mediterranean cooking as the executive chef of “Anassa Taverna” downtown Manhattan. His authentic cuisine earned him already a remarkable review from Time Out New York for his sea-inspired creations based on lobster and swordfish to mention a few.

Besides having worked for numerous fine-dining spots in Athens, Istanbul and New York, Nikola Karvelas brings his exclusive recipes and excellent service to caterings and professional dinners in and around New York, accepting the challenge to satisfy the most high-demanding crowd in the world’s liveliest city.
